I noticed that my word count of the day will zero out prior to midnight. Not always. Sometimes I've seen it zero out around 9pm. So I thought I'd look in my profile to see if there was a setting for time zone so I can set my online Novel Factory to my time zone so it won't zero out today's word count until midnight.

So I click on profile and it takes forever and then kicks me out of the program. It gives me this error message:

So, all I can say is: fix it please. 1). I need access to my profile without being kicked out. 2). I need to set Novel Factory Online to my time zone.  3). I need the daily word count to only reset at midnight.

P.S. I am not logged into another computer. Even so, if I should be able to control that from the computer I'm on right? I mean, if I am logged onto another computer using Novel Factory Online and then go to another computer...can the current computer un-log me from the first computer? The program should recognize another computer logging in and it should log me out of the first computer automatically. If it doesn't...it should.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your feedback, and sorry about these problems you're experiencing.

The word count reset being always set to UK time is an issue that is already very high on the priority list of things to improve, so you should see that reasonably soon - most likely we will add a setting to allow people to select their time zone. This should resolve issues 2 and 3.

The profile error is a new one, we did recently make some changes to the way the profile worked to get rid of a different bug, so presumably this is a new bug which has been introduced. Since you've brought it to our attention, we're working to get this fixed asap. I'll keep you posted...

And that's correct - the Novel Factory can handle you being logged on on multiple computers at the same time (unless there are two people working simultaneously on the same account at the same time, in which case there is necessarily be conflicts).

UK time? That explains why it claims it's the next day even though it's only 9pm. Thanks for the reply. Great program that I'm sure is only going to get better.

Hi there,
We've fixed the error with the profile page not loading - can you check it 's working okay for you now? Thanks!
The timezone change is going to take a little longer, but is very high on the list...

Yeah, I just tried it and I'm able to access everything including the Profile. I look forward to having the time zone corrected but for now I'll work with the daily count reset that occurs at 6pm (I thought it happened at 9pm but you guys are six hours ahead of me). Thanks!
